Boys and girls come to Eagle Ranch from many backgrounds and struggles. Their personalities are just as varied. There are always a few children who particularly stand out, not always for the good.
We often will see a child come to the Ranch and gain attention through poor choices and behaviors. Because of their charisma and commanding presence, they can negatively influence other children. i meet with these children not to reprimand them, but to speak about missed opportunity.
I tell them that they can choose to direct their natural abilities to be a positive leader. The Bible has many passages about being an encouragement to others, such as 1 Corinthians 14:26, “…Let all things be done for building up.”
The boys and girls who take this message to heart become powerful leaders during their time at the Ranch and well beyond.
