Equine Program
Sometimes It Takes a Horse
The Eagle Ranch Equine Program provides a therapeutic setting where children can conquer fears, build confidence, care for something outside of themselves, and build a bond with horses. Our Equine Program offers a variety of experiences to help boys and girls experience breakthroughs along their journey to healing.
Recreational Approach
Through a fun and hands-on atmosphere, we use the summer months as an opportunity to expose all of our children to our horses. From learning the basics of horse care to every child riding a horse (most for the very first time), our goal through this approach is for each child to have a positive experience meeting and working with the horses, conquer fears, and build confidence.
Exploratory Classes
Eagle Ranch School offers an exploratory class that affords children the opportunity to take a deeper dive into the equestrian world. Our boys and girls learn basic veterinary skills including how to check vital signs, feeding, grooming and horse health. They also learn basic horsemanship skills such as saddling, leading, and riding a horse. The goal of these classes is for the students to learn, be challenged, and ultimately become more comfortable around the horses.
