New Center to provide Counseling, Non-Profit Support and Retreat Space
Flowery Branch, GA – Eagle Ranch will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2020 with eyes on the future. One of the largest residential children’s programs in the Southeast, the Ranch will soon expand its community reach through new services and a new facility.
The Eagle Ranch Board of Directors recently approved development of a 10,000 square-foot facility that will offer:
- Community counseling services
- Support services and resources for non-profits serving children and families
- Retreat space to support parents, marriages and ministry leaders
The James W. Webb Wings Center
The new facility will be located next door to Eagle Ranch’s residential campus on Union Church Road in Flowery Branch, on 45-acres acquired in 2016. The James W. Webb Wings Center is named in memory of Eagle Ranch board member Jim Webb, who faithfully served the mission of Eagle Ranch for more than 30 years.
“Jim Webb was a friend, mentor and trusted counselor,” said Eagle Ranch Founder and Executive Director Eddie Staub. “We are honored to pay tribute to Jim and his family through the naming of this facility that will expand our reach through North Georgia, Metro Atlanta and beyond.”
Community Need
Mental health services are among the most rapidly growing needs in the North Georgia area. Eagle Ranch receives numerous calls each month from families seeking help for a child, and in some cases, residential services are not the best fit but family-focused counseling would be of assistance. Additionally, the center will provide Continued Care counseling for our families after a child returns home, as well as individual and marriage counseling.
“Community need has always driven the vision of Eagle Ranch,” said Founder and Executive Director Eddie Staub. “We will come alongside the counseling community in our region to offer additional support.”
A Home for the Wings Initiative
The Wings Initiative was founded in 1996 to help start or retool other children’s programs and non-profit organizations both domestically and internationally through sharing best practices. The Wings Center will serve as home for this initiative, providing working space, support services and resources.
Other Services
Eagle Ranch’s beautiful campus and rural setting are an ideal environment for rest and renewal. Providing space for retreats to support parents, marriages and ministry leaders will help reinforce and expand Eagle Ranch’s mission to make life better for children, families, and ultimately communities.
Funding for the James W. Webb Wings Center, and its start-up costs, will be part of the Ranch’s 35th Anniversary Capital Campaign. Plans are to break ground in Spring/Summer of 2020, with counseling services starting in Fall of 2021.
