Eagle Ranch Adds Two New Girls’ Homes to Campus

New Homes Will Double Capacity for Serving Girls

Chestnut Mountain, Ga. – Eagle Ranch recently completed two new girls’ homes on its campus in Chestnut Mountain.

The largest children’s home in north Georgia, Eagle Ranch currently serves 54 boys and girls between the ages of 8-18. The additional homes will increase the Ranch’s capacity to serve 12 additional girls, and a total of 66 children.“When we opened the Ranch in 1985, we were able to provide a home for six boys. Through many faithful supporters, we are now able to meet the needs of more children and families in crisis than ever before,” said Eddie Staub, founder and executive director of Eagle Ranch. “The new homes enable us to serve up to 24 girls, which will double the original capacity of our girls’ program.”Eagle Ranch added girls to its program in 2001 with two homes, called “Glory” and “Praise,” each serving up to six girls. The new homes will be called “Blessing” and “Mercy,” and also have the capacity to serve up to six girls each. The new girls’ homes were made possible through the generosity of two private donors.Girls currently living in the Glory and Praise homes will soon move into the new homes so that maintenance and refurbishments can be conducted on the older homes. Eagle Ranch expects to begin filling the new capacity for its girls program in early 2010. Applications for both girls and boys are accepted on an ongoing basis.

In total, Eagle Ranch has 10 homes for children, each staffed with a houseparent couple who provide a healthy, Christ-centered family living environment for the children. In addition to the homes, children and their families receive counseling, and children in grades 6-9 attend the Eagle Ranch School. The average length of stay for boys and girls at Eagle Ranch is about two years.
