Michael is responsible for developing and implementing Wilmington Trust’s customized investment advisory services for high-net-worth clients and foundations and endowments. In this capacity, Michael manages the firm’s investment advisors in the Southeast region to ensure that each client portfolio is appropriately allocated and that the strategies set by Wilmington Trust’s Investment Strategy Team are efficiently implemented in client portfolios.
Michael joined Wilmington Trust in 2009 with more than two decades of experience in portfolio management for private clients and non-profit organizations. He most recently served as a senior portfolio manager at BNY Mellon and was a founding principal of The Arden Group, an independent investment advisory firm that merged with Mellon Financial Corporation in 2003 and BNY Mellon in 2007. Earlier in his career, Michael was a portfolio manager with SunTrust Bank.
Michael holds an MBA from Georgia State University and a bachelor’s degree from Furman University. He is also a graduate of the National Trust School at Northwestern University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Michael is a member of the CFA® Institute and the ASFIP (Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals). He is also a member of the finance council and the Chairman of the investment committee of the Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta. He is currently on the Board of Eagle Ranch Children’s Home (past Chairman), which provides a home, schooling, and counseling for children in crisis. He also sits on the Board of the Chastain Park Conservancy.
